Board of Trustees President Role Description

  1. Role

 

The President of Center for Spiritual Living Delaware (CSL DE) Board of Trustees must be dedicated to the teachings of New Thought/Science of Mind.  The President leads all policy making groups with the support of the Board and, in general, supervises the business affairs and the properties of CSL DE.

 

  1. Responsibilities/Specific Duties
  2. Preside at the Board of Trustees, annual and special membership meetings of CSL DE.
  3. Make announcements as appropriate for the Board of Trustees at Sunday or special services.
  4. Be signatory for Center for Spiritual Living Delaware legal documents, agreements, contracts as needed to accomplish CSL Delaware
  5. Confer with the Minister and prepare an agenda for the Board of Trustees, annual and special membership meetings.
  6. Represent the Board of Trustees at the New Member Orientation meetings, present the Role of the Trustees, the Responsibilities/Requirements of membership and any other portions of the Orientation as determined appropriate.
  7. Appoint committees, except those of an ecclesiastical nature, as may be authorized by the Board and define the duties of such committees.
  8. Monitor the implementation of Board decisions and policies to see that they are carried out as planned.
  9. Assume other duties and responsibilities from time to time as prescribed by the Board of Trustees.

 

  1. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

The President will have:

  • A working knowledge of Roberts Rules of Order
  • Good leadership and communication skills
  • The ability to manage discussions in a focused, productive way.
